The 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign has been scheduled to take place on Friday 19th September and despite starting a little later than normal, they will look to bring back a sense of normality to how things are completed.
Of course, fans are not initially allowed back into matches for the time being, after German Authorities decided against backing plans that had been brought forward by the football association.
Nonetheless, many will be eagerly awaiting the new Bundesliga campaign and will not be able to wait for it to get started.
What Happened In The Bundesliga 2019/20 Season?
Bayern Munich continued their dominance of German football as they added another Bundesliga title to their collection, making it eight wins in the last eight years. Despite lifting the trophy once again, they were challenged by the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach for much of the season.
Indeed, whilst it looked as though Hans-Dieter Flick’s side eased home, it was only until February where things were incredibly tight at the top as Die Roten had a troubling start to the campaign.
The aforementioned clubs will all likely be involved at the top again, whilst having European commitments, whilst there have been a number of new additions to make the 2020/21 Bundesliga extremely exciting.
Bundesliga Transfers Market 20/21
As with every season to ever be played in the sport of football, the summer provides a host of transfers and rumours that send shockwaves through the game. With the talent available in the Bundesliga, as well as the reputation clubs have in the league, it is no surprise that there have been some big movements and some that are still expected to take place.
Bayern Munich got things started off when they signed Leroy Sané from Manchester City and the Germany international winger will be a player to keep a close eye on as he will likely want to put his injury nightmares behind him and get back to doing what he does best.
Die Roten, though, will likely be losing Thiago Alcántara as it would appear the defensive-midfielder may be joining Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool following their Champions League victory against Paris Saint-Germain.
Borussia Dortmund have managed to bring a number of names this summer as they look to provide Bayern Munich with a challenge at the top. Jude Bellingham, Thomas Meunier and Reinier have all arrived, whereas Red Bull Leipzig have managed to replace Timo Werner with the exciting South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan.
Bundesliga Transfers Rumours 20/21
However, there is a real likelihood that the Bundesliga could lose some of their most prized stars during the transfer window, with a couple of top names being linked with moves to the Premier League.
Whilst Thiago Alcántara looks set to head to Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen sold Kai Havertz to Chelsea whereas Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho has been the subject of intense speculation regarding a switch to Manchester United.
Bundesliga Players To Keep An Eye On
The 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign may represent a new season and a new opportunity for many, although it would be rather difficult to look beyond Bayern Munich to lift their ninth consecutive title. As mentioned, Die Roten have managed to add Leroy Sané to their attacking ranks, whilst they will have only been buoyed on by their triumph in the Champions League.
Indeed, new Bundesliga players like Bellingham, Reinier and Hee-chan will all be worthy of keeping a close eye on as it would be reasonable to suggest that if they play well, then their team will be doing rather well in the Bundesliga, as well.
